When Samsung first announced it would make a “major announcement” on August 15th, it promised to unveil “the newest Galaxy device,” setting off speculation that it could use the event to announce the Galaxy Note 2. It now appears that the August 15th will indeed focus on a new tablet (most likely the Galaxy Note 10.1).
The August 15th invitation features the outline of a device similar to a tablet. A number of pen strokes suggest some kind of pen interaction and it just so happens that the Galaxy Note 10.1 will come with an S-Pen (although the same can be said of the Note 2). Then there is the now-dismissed confirmation that the August 29th Unpacked event will focus on the Galaxy Note 2.
Samsung first announced the Galaxy Note 10.1 at MWC 2012. Shortly after, the company confirmed that a number of changes would be made before it was released.
