Forthcoming HTC Edge renamed HTC Endeavor?

HTCThe oft-rumoured quad-core HTC Edge appears to have been renamed ahead of its expected Mobile World Congress debut. PocketNow has learned from “a trusted source” that HTC has taken the unusual step of changing its codename to Endeavor.

No reason was given for the codename change but PocketNow surmises that it might be “to build up some buzz for its products prior to their introduction, but not so far ahead of time that its ability to operate in secrecy is hindered.”

The HTC Endeavor/Edge could be introduced as the HTC Supreme. It is expected to come with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a 4.7-inch 720p HD “optically laminated” display and a 8.8 millimeters thick unibody design. It could be available as soon as the spring.
