Sony Computer Entertainment last night announced that HTC is the first third party manufacturer to join its PlayStation Certified license program. It had previously been available only to Sony devices such as the Xperia S and Xperia Play. Sony also promised that it will not stop at HTC as it plans “to proliferate the world of PlayStation across mobile devices.”
“HTC is focused on delivering innovative mobile experiences for people everywhere and SCE’s immersive world of gaming will bring compelling entertainment to HTC One customers across the globe,” said Kouji Kodera, Chief Product Officer, HTC Corporation.
Sony also announced the rebranding of its PlayStation Suite platform to PlayStation Mobile.
PlayStation Mobile will begin to make its way onto HTC phones, starting with the HTC One family, later this year.
