ASUS has barely begun to ship its Transformer Prime tablet that it today announced a new model. The Transformer Prime TF700T will come with a number of improvements over the original model, the most notable being an upgraded WUXGA (1920×1200) 10.1-inch display.
The TF700T will also come with an improved front-facing camera. Gone is the 1.2MP camera in favour of a new 2MP one that will also support HD video chat conferencing. It will also feature a new back panel design meant to improve GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth performance. GPS functionality was removed from the original Transformer Prime’s specifications due to poor performance. It will also ship with Android 4.0 pre-loaded unlike the current model which will receive the update starting on January 12th.
Other specifications should not change from those of the Transformer Prime TF201. It will also be fully compatible with the TF201’s keyboard dock.
The ASUS Transformer Prime TF700T will be available in Q2 2012 for US$599 for the 32GB model and US$699 for the 64GB model.
