A rumour suggests that Casio could be working on a new a high-end smartphone for Verizon Wireless. According to Droid Life, one of its readers recently got to participate in a focus group where a number of devices including the Casio one were presented.
The Casio smartphone (no name or even codename) was powered by a quad-core processor and the “latest Android version” (likely Android 4.0 based on the pictures shown during the focus group). It also came with a large (either a 4.5- or 4.7-inch) Super AMOLED display, LTE connectivity, NFC, a rear-facing 8MP camera, a front-facing 2MP camera, and a 2,000mAh battery. It also featured a USB port on the top left, audio jack on the top right, microSD on the left side and volume rocker and lock switch on the right. The smartphone was slightly curved at both the top and bottom and was quite slim (possibly 7.9 millimeters).
Four slim clamshell designs, a new G’Zone phone (possibly waterproof), and a phone with a 5-inch display were also there. No information was given about these. A swiveling solar-power car dock was also discussed.
