It appears that the AnTuTu benchmark has confirmed that the Sony Xperia SL (LT26ii) will indeed come with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor as earlier rumours suggested. The specific chipset is not specified but is believed to be an overclocked version of the Qualcomm S3 Snapdragon MSM8260 chipset presently found in the Sony Xperia S.
The benchmarks also show the Sony Xperia SL running Android 4.0.4.
The Sony Xperia SL looks set to replace the Sony Xperia S. It will sport few if any cosmetic changes and only limited hardware upgrades including the faster processor.
There is still no information on availability and pricing.
