A new rumour suggests that Apple will announce its next generation iPad along with iOS 5.1 at an event in early February. The Japanese website Macotakara cites “sources and suppliers in Asia” and the U.S. for the report.
The actual launch would then follow in early March (as other rumours have hinted). The delay between announcement and actual launch appears at least partly due to factories shutting down for the Chinese New Year running from January 23rd to January 28th.
Recent rumours have suggested that the iPad 3 will come with a quad-core processor, a QXGA (1536×2048) display, and possibly LTE connectivity. Apple is also likely to continue to offer the iPad 2 at a discounted price alongside the iPad 3.
