Apple is expected to unveil its latest smartphone (the Apple iPhone 5 or the New iPhone?) less than a day from now. Following rumours that Apple would start to take pre-orders on the same day comes a report that they may in fact only start a couple of days later. According to MacRumors, their own sources suggest that they will start on Friday, September 14th in the morning in much the same way as last year iPhone 4S pre-orders did.
The report adds that Apple’s online sales support team will be significantly increased as of 0600 ET on Friday morning with higher than normal staffing expected for the rest of the day. This could suggest that Apple will begin taking pre-orders around that time.
The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to hit the street on September 21st in the U.S. and perhaps a few additional countries. Wider availability would then follow on October 5th.
