Today is the day that the Apple iPhone 5 goes on sale. Hopefully you pre-ordered it or are already in a line-up (or even already have it) as Apple looks to have another record seller on its hands. It received 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours alone and online orders now show availability in three to four weeks.
In Canada, the iPhone 5 is available directly from Apple. The 16GB model sells for CA$699.00, the 32GB for CA$799.00, and the 64GB for CA$899.00. It will be tied to a carrier upon purchase.
Carrier pricing starts at CA$179 (or a few pennies more) for the 16GB model with a three-year contract. The 32GB model sells for CA$279 and the 64GB one for CA$379, again with three-year contracts. Bell, Fido, Koodo, Rogers, TELUS and Virgin Mobile are all selling it as of today.
It will also be available from a number of retailers such as Best Buy.
MTS and SaskTel will both launch the iPhone 5 on October 28th.
In the US, it sells for US$199 for the 16GB model, US$299 for the 32GB model and US$399 for the new 64GB model with a two-year contract through AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
