Look for relations to get even frostier after Apple filed a third ITC complaint against HTC on June 4th. The move comes after U.S. Customs temporarily delayed imports of the HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE but eventually released them after finding them in compliance with an ITC ruling over Apple’s “data tapping” patent (U.S. Patent No. 5,946,647).
Apple’s latst complaint alleges that HTC is still infringing its patent. It names 29 devices in the complaint, including all three HTC One devices and the HTC EVO 4G LTE. The ITC will now have to once review HTC’s solution and determine whether it does get around the patent in question or not.
Apple filed its first ITC complaint against HTC back in March 2010. It filed a second complaint in July 2011. In December, the ITC ruled in favour of Apple over its ’647 patent in the first case.
