A second Samsung Galaxy S III rendering has surfaced. The new image is very similar to the first one but is clearer, revealing a bit more. The GSM Helpdesk report also adds a number of details on the specifications.
The new image clearly shows the capacitive buttons, back and search, on either side of the physical home button.
In terms of specifications, the report aligns somewhat with other recent rumours:
- Processor: 1.5GHz quad-core
- Operating system: Google Android 4.0
- Cellular connectivity: HSPA+ (42Mbps)
- Other connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, DLNA
- Display: 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD
- Input: Capacitive touchscreen
- Memory: 1GB RAM
- Storage: 32GB onboard
- Rear-facing camera: 12MP with LED flash and 1080p video capture
- Front-facing camera: 1.3MP with 720p video capture
- Battery: 1,750mAh
- Connectors: microUSB 2.0 and HDMI output
- Dimensions / weight: 131 x 64 x 8 millimeters / 125 grams
While the battery capacity appears small for a device likely to be power-hungry, the report adds that the battery will be removable.
A separate report suggests that Samsung could unveil its latest flagship device as early as April (despite denying such rumours earlier). Samsung Greater China President Kim Young-Ha indicated that this move could be part of Samsung’s plans to pursue a greater market share in the Chinese market.
