Rumours that Huawei was working on a smartphone with a 6.1-inch 1080p display appear to have been validated. Company executive Richard Yu was caught on camera showing off the device, known as the Huawei Ascend Mate, at a Huawei store in China.
Just how big does the smartphone feel in one’s hand? The following two pictures give you a sense of the size of the device:
Rumoured specifications include a 1.8GHz quad-core Huawei K3V3 SoC and a 4,000mAh battery. It is also expected to come with 2GB of RAM and be 9.9 millimeters thick.
We still have no availability or pricing details. Hopefully those will be revealed at CES 2013.
Huawei will also unveil its new Ascend D2 flagship and WP8 Ascend W1 at CES 2013.
