A Bluetooth SIG posting has revealed that Samsung has a new Windows Phone device set to succeed the Samsung Focus. Nothing earth shattering here but the filing contains two pieces of information that suggest that Samsung may be looking to release a device similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II but running Windows Phone.
First is the model number: SGH-i937. The Samsung Galaxy S II’s model number is SGH-i927, suggesting that this new device could be a successor or variant. Second is the fact that the SGH-i937 has the same Bluetooth profile as the Windows Phone Mango stack.
With the Samsung Galaxy S II already a hit and Windows Phone Mango smartphones expected in the fall, maybe Samsung is hoping that lightning will strike twice.
