A rumour originating in France suggests that Microsoft will push out its first Windows Phone 7 update starting on February 7th. A number of French sites are reporting that some users may have already received the update, perhaps as a low volume test in preparation for the official release.
The update is expected to deliver cut-and-paste functionality as well as a number of performance improvements. It could also come with support for the Qualcomm 7×30 chipset and a CDMA location stack to allow CDMA carriers such as Sprint to offer Windows Phone 7 devices.
The date remains unconfirmed but falls a week before Microsoft is expected to unveil new handsets during MWC 2011.
