Windows Phone 7 Mango update pushed out to 2012?

Microsoft Windows Phone

While Microsoft is currently pushing out its first Windows Phone 7 update (really setting the stage for the first real update), rumours have surfaced that a second update expected later this year may slip into 2012. The news comes from Windows IT Pro’s Paul Thurrott. According to his sources, “that schedule is a near impossibility.”

The update, codenamed Mango, is expected to be a major update that would include IE9, Silverlight run-time and HTML 5 support, Far Eastern language support, improved multitasking, and more.

On the other hand, ZDNet’s Mary-Jo Foley’s own sources have indicated that Microsoft recently confirmed to its partners (OEMs and carriers) that the update will be available in early fall to allow them to have it on their devices in time for the holidays.
