Is Kobo, the company behind the Kobo eReaders, planning to launch a tablet device of its own? An FCC filing for a device known as the Kobo Vox eReader suggests that this may be the case. Little is known about the device but a few details can be found in the available documents.
Unlike the current Kobo eReader Touch Edition (and predecessors), the Kobo Vox eReader will come with a headphone jack on the bottom, suggesting it will some some multimedia capabilities. The filing also indicates that the device will sport Wi-Fi connectivity, a microUSB port and a microSD card slot. The device image shows no buttons, suggesting that the device will also come with a touchscreen.
