Verizon today announced that the DROID X2 by Motorola will be available online as of May 19th with store availability to follow on May 26th. It is Verizon’s first dual-core processor smartphone.

Verizon has promised an update to Android 2.3 but timelines were not specified.

The DROID X2 will be available online at www.verizonwireless.com starting on May 19th and in Verizon Wireless stores on May 26th for US$199.99 with a two-year contract.
