TELUS to start unlocking devices on February 15th

TELUS Mobility today announced that it will begin offering an unlocking service on February 15th. The service will be available to its post-paid customers for most SIM-based devices.

“Wireless devices are far more sophisticated and powerful than they were even five years ago and our customers are asking us now to give them the freedom and flexibility to use these devices as they wish. We are listening and responding to their needs, through services like device unlocking,” said David Fuller, Chief Marketing Officer at TELUS.

The unlocking service will cost CA$50 and will require that the associated account be at least 90 days old. Contracts will remain active unless the customer also pays a cancellation fee.
