TELUS Mobility this week announced that it had expanded its HSPA+ coverage in Manitoba with the addition of new HSPA+ dual-cell wireless sites. The extended network adds coverage to Selkirk, Victoria Beach, Lockport, Ste. Anne, Steinbach and along Highway 1 to Portage la Prairie. Customers there will now see download speeds of up to 42Mbps with average speeds in the 7 to 14Mbps range.
“Our commitment to our customers is to offer the best wireless experience coast-to-coast. We are investing millions of dollars to bring them the most advanced network technologies in urban and rural areas,” said Brent Johnston, vice-president of Mobility Solutions at TELUS. “We are thrilled to offer more Manitobans access to our blazing fast network.”
The TELUS 4G wireless network now reaches 66% of Manitobans. That will grow again in 2012 with planned expansion to cover Portage la Prairie in early 2012 and Brandon in the summer.
