Sony today unveiled two tablets at a press event in Tokyo. The two, codenamed S1 and S2, will both use Google Android 3.0 and feature rather unique form factors. The S1 is optimized for rich media entertainment while the S2 is geared at mobile communication and entertainment.
The S1 features an “off-center of gravity design” to improve stability and ease of grip. It will come with a 9.4-inch display.
The S2 features a clamshell design with two 5.5-inch displays which can operate together or independently.
Both tablets will come with Wi-Fi and WAN (3G/4G) support. They will also support Qriocity music and video services and feature PlayStation integration and PlayStation Network compatibility.
Both the S1 and S2 will be available globally in the fall.
