Sony Ericsson will launch at least 8 Android smartphones in 2011 (up from 4 in 2010) according to Sony Ericsson vice president and CTO Jan Uddenfeldt. He also reconfirmed that the company will no longer launch Symbian-based smartphones. As for Windows Phone, Uddenfeldt did not rule out such devices in 2012 or later.
Smartphones now account for 60 percent of Sony Ericsson’s total handset sales.
