Sony Ericsson has already confirmed that it plans to update its entire 2011 Xperia device lineup to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Today, it provided a timeline as to when the updates will occur.
First up will be the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray in late March or early April. A second wave will follow in late April or early May for the Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia pro, and Xperia active. Each wave will consist of a phased roll out over several weeks. Sony Ericsson also warns that all kits for a specific phone may not be deployed at the same time.
Users will be alerted that the upgrade is ready via a notification from their Xperia devices.
