Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer has apparently confirmed that Sony will release an Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet by the end of the summer. The revelation apparently came at the same event where Stringer also hinted at the presence of Sony camera in the upcoming iPhone 5.
A separate report by Japanese site AV Watch suggests that the mysterious tablet could be out later than summer but still by the end of the year.
There are no details about this tablet yet. Older rumours suggest that it could be a device called the S1, a 9.4-inch tablet with a Tegra 2 processor and a rather unique ‘wrapped’ form factor. Sony is also apparently working on a clamshell tablet as well and it’s not clear which this could be.
