If information posted on the GSM Association website is correct, Shaw Communications will launch its wireless network in September 2011. The site lists a status of “Planned 01-SEP-11.” with 3G (1700/2100MHz)to be offered. To date, Shaw has only committed to a late 2011 launch date.
Similar information was posted for both Bell and TELUS’ HSPA+ network launches and proved to be inaccurate so take this date with a grain of salt.
Shaw spent just under CA$190 million to buy 18 wireless licenses in 2008’s wireless auction.
