Predictably, Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab users did not react favourably to Samsung’s decision to not update the two devices to Android 4.0. A report by Korean ajnews indicates that the company is now reconsidering its decision due to a strong customer response.
The report suggests that Samsung has not completely changed course but will revisit the issue and see if it can deliver the update. How it would do so remains to be seen but it could follow HTC’s route (when faced with a similar issue with the HTC Desire. In the end, HTC delivered a “development only” update that removed most customizations including several HTC applications.
No word has been given on timelines (assuming Samsung even goes ahead) or whether all regional variants of both devices would be covered.
