Samsung to release Samsung Galaxy 3D later this year?

SamsungSamsung may be about to throw its hat into the 3D smartphone game. According to a report from Korean website ETNews.com, Samsung is looking to have a glasses-free 3D handset out in time for the holiday season.

Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy 3D, the device appears to share many of the same specifications as the Samsung Galaxy S II: 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor, Google Android 2.3 (with upgrade to version 2.4 mentioned), a 4.3-inch 3D display, and an HDMI-out port. It will also sport dual 8MP cameras to capture 3D stills and video.

Samsung competitors LG and HTC have both already released 3D smartphones: The LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D respectively (both headed to Rogers Wireless later this summer).
