CES is not finished that Samsung is already turning its attention to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) taking place in February. The company will announce new dual-core mobile smartphones and new tablets. Unlike some of its competitors, Samsung did not introduce dual-core devices or any tablet running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). According to JK Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics:
“We will continue to keep our technology leadership this year. In terms of dual-core applications, we already have a program, and next month at Mobile World Congress we will unveil it. In February at MWC, we will unveil our next-generation tablet device portfolio in detail.”
Without giving out specifics, Shin hinted that Samsung will unveil new Windows Phone 7 devices, possibly with 4G LTE and 3G and 4G tablets. Samsung will offer both LTE and WiMAX devices, expecting both technologies to co-exist for at least the next ten years.
