Samsung yesterday announced that its Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet will be available starting on October 2nd (along with two new media players, the Galaxy Player 4.0 and Galaxy Player 5.0 which will be available in mid-October).
“These three additions to the Galaxy family of products are impressive examples of our commitment to offering consumers an unrivaled array of choices for entertainment and information on-the-go,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile
The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 have changed slightly since its announcement at CTIA 2011:

- Other connectivity: 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 / DLNA

- Storage: 16G / 32G internal
- Rear-facing camera: 3MP AF with LED flash and HD 720p video recording
- Front-facing camera: 2MP
- Battery: 6,100mAh
- Dimensions / weight: 230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6 millimeters / 447 grams
Two versions, both Wi-Fi-only, will be available: A 16GB one selling for US$469 and a 32GB selling for US$569.
