Samsung Galaxy S II delayed but getting a processor upgrade?

Samsung Galaxy S II

There is good and bad news for those waiting for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II.

The good news is that the Galaxy S II appears set to get a processor upgrade prior to release. Initially announced at MWC 2011 with a 1GHz dual-core Samsung Orion processor, it appears that the speed will be bumped up to 1.2GHz. Two separate sources have apparently confirmed the news according to GSMArena.com.

Unfortunately, it also appears that the release of the Samsung Galaxy S II has been pushed back. According to a tweet by Samsung Mobile India:

Due to delay in the global launch of SGS2 the device won’t be launched before June. And, its not just India but its delayed all over.

It’s not clear whether the processor upgrade is the cause of the delay.
