Samsung today announced that it has topped sales of 30 million units of its Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S II smartphones. The Galaxy S range first launched two years ago and has since “continued to gain popularity among consumers and propelled the GALAXY brand to one of the most recognized mobile brands in the world, with Samsung now the largest Android smartphone vendor and the second largest phone vendor overall worldwide (IDC).”
JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, said:
“The phenomenal success of these smartphones once again demonstrates how the GALAXY S smartphones is setting the standard for smart mobile technology around the world.”
The original Galaxy S line has now sold nearly 20 million units with the Galaxy S II adding another 10 million units since its launch.
