Samsung today confirmed that it will offer an Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) upgrade for its Samsung Galaxy S II devices. The confirmation came via Twitter from Samsung UK’s account:
Hi, good news – the Galaxy S II will be receiving ICS, but there are no dates confirmed as yet. We will keep you posted.
It remains to be seen how quickly carriers will deploy the update once Samsung releases it. In Canada alone, the Galaxy S II is offered under different guises by Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel, TELUS Mobility and Virgin Mobile.
