Samsung has already committed to updating its Galaxy S II lineup to Android 4.0 but missing so far was a timeline. It today announced a longer list of devices that will be upgraded and gave the first clues as to when users can expect to see Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on their devices.
Updates will start with the GALAXY S II and GALAXY Note in Q1 2012. Other Galaxy devices will follow afterwards. The following are now confirmed: the GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.
Samsung will make further announcements on the updates “according to market situation and carriers’ requirements.”
