According to one of BGR’s “most trusted sources”, Research In Motion co-CEO Mike Lazaridis lied when he said that part of the delay to launch BlackBerry 10 devices was due to the dual-core processor chosen. The source indicates that “RIM is simply pushing this out as long as they can for one reason, they don’t have a working product yet.”
The same source also shared some information on the development progress of BlackBerry 10. At this point in time, it is in no better shape than PlayBook 2.0 which still lacks a native email client and BlackBerry Messenger. “Email and PIM [is better] on an 8700 than it is on BlackBerry 10,” writes the source.
As if that was not enough, RIM’s upcoming platform is described as inferior to “iPhone OS 1.0 or Android 2.0.” Ouch!
If these serious allegations are anywhere close to being accurate, RIM’s troubles are far from over and could get even worse.
Update: Research In Motion responded to BGR‘s story with a terse tweet:
. @BGR We refer you to our Q3 earnings call. The anonymous claim suggesting otherwise is inaccurate and uninformed. bbry.lv/RIMQ3EC
