Rogers today announced the launch of the beta version of Rogers Live TV, an app that lets customers stream live TV channels on their iPads.
“We want to give customers the ultimate flexibility and ensure they’re able to watch TV anywhere on any device,” said David Purdy, VP Video Products, Rogers Communications. “Rogers Live TV app is a key component of our TV Anywhere vision and lets customers experience live TV on their tablets seamlessly and as part of their current entertainment package.”
The Rogers Live TV app works via Wi-Fi. At launch, it will stream 20 channels with more coming soon.
The official launch will happen in early 2012. An Android version (for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1) is also coming soon.
The beta is open only to Rogers customers in Ontario “who subscribe to Rogers Hi-Speed Internet with a MyRogers account.”
