A number of BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930 users have been reported an issue where their device refuses to power on after recharging. A Research In Motion spokesperson has now confirmed that there is an issue: [A] “limited number of customers have reported an issue where their device does not power on.” She added that RIM is now “actively working on a software update to resolve this issue.”
It’s not clear just how many devices are affected by this issue but judging from comments on the company’s support board as well as other BlackBerry websites (such as CrackBerry), it appears to affect more than just a “limited” number of devices.
RIM has yet to provide any details as to when the update will be available.
