Research In Motion is apparently looking for a new Public Relations agency. A report by PRWeek suggests that the company has already had initial meetings with a number of agencies. The next step looks to be full pitches from a number of these unnamed agencies.
RIM has struggled recently, losing market share to both Apple and its iPhone and Google Android’s army of devices. With the expected launch of its first QNX-powered smartphones in early 2012, the company may be looking for a fresh start.
RIM today uses Edelman for its social media and Razorfish for its digital marketing. It also works with Good Relations in Europe and Frank PR in the UK for its consumer public relations.
