A report by the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) indicates that the upcoming HTC Flyer tablet will be outsourced to Pegatron. HTC, which has manufactured all of its products in house to date, may have taken the decision to increase its production schedule flexibility.
The report also reiterates that the HTC Flyer will be powered by Android 2.3 and come with a 7-inch touchscreen display. This aligns well with earlier rumours.
HTC is expected to follow up the Flyer with two more tablets which will run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).
It remains to be seen if HTC unveil the Flyer at next week’s Mobile World Congress.
