All iPhones and both iPads have been unveiled in San Fransisco. But the next iPhone may buck that trend. AllThingsD.com has learned that the upcoming October iPhone event (on October 4th?) will instead take place at Apple’s campus in Cupertino, California.
The reason for the switch in venue locations is not clear. It could be that the release date could still change making it more difficult to book a larger venue. Perhaps such venues are already booked and unavailable to Apple. For example, both the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Moscone Center in San Francisco–are hosting Oracle OpenWorld the week of October 1st. It could also be that a more intimate venue would be more appropriate for new CEO Tim Cook’s first media event.
