The rumours that Apple would launch its third-generation iPad in times for the holidays had died down for a while. They have been reawakened by research firm CLSA. According to the firm: “While most vendors appear fixated on matching the specs and features of iPad 2, our checks suggest Apple will release iPad 3 in time for the holiday season, sporting a better display and LTE capabilities.”
The latest rumours suggest that iPad component suppliers are already in the process of certifying parts with Apple. If so, production could start in time to deliver such a tablet by the end of the year. Other rumours suggest a spring 2012 release, maintaining Apple’s traditional yearly refresh cycle.
CLSA also indicates that an LTE iPhone will not be released in 2011.
With the WWDC set to kick off, perhaps some answers are only just over a day away…
