In an interview with MobileSyrup.com, Nokia Canada’s Portfolio Collaboration Manager, Chad Saliba, confirmed that Nokia will offer a number of Windows Phone 7.5 devices in Canada in 2012 (the 2011 focus will be on Europe). They will cover multiple price points starting at the Chassis 1 specifications (1GHz processor, WVGA display, 256MB RAM, 5MP camera) and going up to higher end devices with more powerful specifications (the Nokia Ace perhaps?)
A number of carriers will carry Windows Phone 7.5 devices when they launch in Canada. Already on board are Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless, and TELUS Mobility.
Nokia also confirmed that Nokia Maps will make its way to Windows Phone 7.5. Other Nokia intellectual property assets could also make their way over.
Also look for a greater presence for the Nokia brand in Canada with services bearing the Nokia Services name rather than the retired Ovi brand.
Lastly, I will admit to a fair amount of envy at the fact that MobileSyrup.com conducted their interview while at the wheel of a Bentley GT Convertible.
