Motorola today announced that it will offer the Wi-Fi-only version of the Motorola XOOM in the US starting on March 27th. Aside from the lack of 3G connectivity, it will be identical to the original XOOM.
“MOTOROLA XOOM is a truly innovative tablet – its design, coupled with being the first tablet to have Android 3.0, results in a user experience that is one-of-a-kind,” said Dan Papalia, vice president of retail sales for Motorola Mobility. “We are now continuing to expand the choices available to consumers with the MOTOROLA XOOM Wi-Fi to be available soon from numerous leading retailers in the United States.”
The Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi edition will sell for US$599 (a price that matches that of the 32GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi). It will be available through a number of retailers including Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Staples and Walmart.
