Motorola Xoom 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition revealed?

Motorola MobilityAlong with the Motorola Spyder, ThisIsMyNext.com has obtained new details about two potential successors to the original XOOM tablet. We first heard about a successor in July but it now looks like there will be two according to their “very-trusted source.”

The first looks to be a 10.1-inch (no word on resolution but HD) replacement perhaps to be called the XOOM 2. It will come with a 1.2GHz ducal-core processor, 1GB RAM, a camera capable of recording 1080p video, and a battery good for some 11 hours. An optional keyboard case and a stylus pen are also in the works. On the software side, it could be the first tablet to ship with Adobe Flash Player 11 and stream Netflix in HD. Wireless PC sync support, a built-in IR remote and home automation software could also be included.

Then there is the XOOM 2 Media Edition, a smaller tablet meant to be easily held in one hand. Few details are known except that it will sport an 8.2-inch HD IPS Gorilla Glass display, an integrated IR remote and a subwoofer right on the chassis. It will weigh about 430 grams (0.95 pounds) with a frame made of magnesium and aluminium.

A separate source suggests that the XOOM 2 could be headed to Verizon quite soon as the carrier is already working on signage and fixtures for such a device.
