Digitimes is reporting that Motorola has ordered between 700,000 and 800,000 XOOM tablets from its suppliers for Q1 2011. Its sources expect that orders could climb even higher to one million units. The report also reveals that the Xoom will be available in four colours.
The Motorola XOOM was announced at CES 2011 and is headed to Verizon in a 3G version this quarter. A 4G LTE version is expected in Q2. A Wi-Fi only model is also expected although it’s not clear whether it will be available in North America.
The report also suggests that Google gave Motorola and Samsung more priority than to other partners (such as LG Electronics and HTC) in getting their Android 3.0 tablets ready.
