Motorola has once again indicated that it is open to using Windows Phone in future devices. Speaking at the Oppenheimer Annual Technology & Communications Conference, Motorola Mobility Chairman and CEO Sanjay Jha said that his company would be interested in a partnership with Microsoft if it reach a similar agreement as the one between Microsoft and Nokia (likely the ability to customize the OS and the support of marketing dollars). At the same time, Jha reiterated that Motorola’s focus right now remains on Android.
Jha also went on to say that, beyond Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, it’s unlikely that Windows Phone, HP’s webOS, and RIM’s BlackBerry OS will all survive in the long term. He did not indicate which would survive and which would fail though.
Jha also promised that upcoming Motorola devices will feature enhanced enterprise and multimedia capabilities.
