The Motorola DROID X appears to have a successor. Codenamed Daytona, it appears that this device will hit the street at the Motorola DROID X2. Along with the name, a few specification details have emerged.
It looks like the DROID X2 will be powered by a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor. It should also come with a 4.3-inch qHD (540 by 960) display (improving the resolution over its predecessor) but will otherwise inherit many of the original DROID X’s specs, including 8MP camera capable of HD video capture, DLNA, and an HDMI-out port.
The device currently runs on Android 2.2 but it is likely that it will be updated to Android 2.3 prior to its expected launch.
With the DROID name, it’s clear it’s headed to Verizon which is expected to release it in May. Pricing details are not known yet.
