The Motorola Atrix is set to make way for its successor at AT&T. The Motorola Atrix 2 is more of an evolution than a revolution, incorporating many of the features seen on the DROID Bionic available through Verizon. Key differences over its precursor appear to be the replacement of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with a TI OMAP 4 one and the replacement of the PenTile pixel arrangement in favour of a different pixel grid making for clearer greys.
Rumoured Motorola Atrix 2 specifications:
- Processor: 1GHz TI OMAP 4
- Operating system: Google Android 2.3.5
- Cellular connectivity: HSPA+
- Display: 4.3-inch qHD
- Memory: 1GB RAM
- Storage: 8GB internal / microSD cards up to 32GB (2GB card included)
- Rear-facing camera: 8MP autofocus with LED flash and 1080p video capture
- Connectors: 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port, HDMI port
- Battery: 1735mAh
The Atrix 2 will support Webtop and a number of Webtop accessories including an HD Dock and a Lapdock will be offered. The new LapDock 100 accessory features a few changes including a smaller 10.1-inch display and a new cable connection system (likely allowing it to support additional devices including the rumoured Motorola Spyder).
