Motorola today announced two successors to its XOOM tablet, the XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition tablets. The key difference between the two is the size of the display. The XOOM 2 comes with a 10.1-inch display whereas the XOOM 2 Media Edition has a smaller 8.2-inch display.

The Motorola XOOM 2 will also come with a suite of business-focused applications such as Citrix Receiver and Citrix GoToMeeting as well as enterprise-grade security and Active Sync for work email, contacts and calendar.

At this point, Motorola has only announced the Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition for the UK and Ireland in mid-November as Wi-Fi only models. Launch details for other countries have not been revealed yet. One past rumour suggested that the XOOM 2 is headed to Verizon.
