Some Samsung phone users are still having issues with the Windows Phone 7 despite Microsoft having released a corrected update. A number of users are reporting an “error code 800705B4” that once again prevents the update from completing.
Microsoft quickly responded to these reports. Tweets from its Windows Phone 7 Support Twitter account indicated that “We are aware of the error code are are looking into it right now” and advised at least one user to hold off performing the update while it investigated.
Last night, Microsoft provided further information, indicating that about 100 customers worldwide reported the issue:
We’ve spent the last 24 hours aggressively investigating the issue, and have identified a work around for error code 800705b4. You can find it here. We appreciate the patience of customers affected by the error and will continue to carefully monitor the update rollout and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Let’s hope that Microsoft has better luck with its NoDo update which could be released as early as next week.
