Microsoft briefly showed off four new smartphones running Windows Phone Mango yesterday during the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. From Fujitsu comes a pink waterproof mobile phone. Acer and ZTE each have one device lined up as well. The highlight may well have been a new Samsung smartphone (the SGH-i937 perhaps?) which bore a good resemblance to the Galaxy S II.
Not much was revealed about the devices but the Samsung smartphone does appear to have a front-facing camera. Interestingly, the most recent Windows Phone specification (announced at MIX11) made no mention of a front camera. Omission or hint that an updated specification will be announced soon?
Microsoft also used the event to reconfirm that its tablets will be powered by Windows 8 rather than a tablet version of Windows Phone.
