LG is the latest manufacturer to provide a schedule as to when it will update some of its devices to Android 4.0. The update is so far limited to “LG smart-phones which were introduced this year.”
Updates will begin in Q2 2012 for the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. In the third quarter, the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX will also be upgraded.
LG promises to take “all possible measure to offer a smooth OS upgrade.” It adds that the updates will take place “in a timely manner.” Specific dates will vary by market, carrier, and smartphone model. Specific details, including exact start dates, will be announced before rollouts begin.
